Dear Kindergarten Parents,  

We are looking forward to a successful 2024-2025 school year with your child at St. Matthew Catholic School. This school year promises to be filled with lots of learning, fun, and meeting new friends.  

To prepare your child for what is expected in kindergarten, please help your child practice the attached high frequency words, letter and sound recognition, fine motor skills (proper letter and number formation), and math readiness skills. Please click the links below to view your child’s summer assignments. Feel free to make extra copies of the attachments and practice more than one time. All assignments must be completed and turned in the first week of school, however, you do not need to turn in the fine motor activities. 

Some of our beginning of the year activities include: learning and working together, going to Mass together as a school, God’s Creation, Fall Festival, hosting All Saints Day Mass, reading and writing whole numbers up to at least 30, and much more. We are busy learners in kindergarten!
